Public Relations Plan
Two Media Exposure Ideas
Idea 1: Hosting Wellness Workshops
Idea 2: Organizing a Community-Wide Wellness Day Event
A series of free on-campus wellness workshops would showcase the program’s offerings, such as mental health support, fitness sessions, and nutritional counseling. These workshops would include yoga sessions, mindfulness classes, nutrition talks, and stress-management techniques. They would be led by program staff and occasionally feature guest experts from local wellness centers or the IU Health system.

Workshops allow students to sample program offerings firsthand in a low-pressure environment, which can increase interest and drive participation. This exposure aligns well with students’ needs, particularly for those unfamiliar with available wellness services. Additionally, workshops demonstrate the program’s commitment to addressing students’ mental, physical, and emotional health in real-time, which can help build credibility. Interactive workshops foster a sense of community, allowing students to connect with others with similar interests and wellness goals. Hosting regular workshops builds ongoing engagement and keeps wellness at the forefront of campus life.

Let's celebrate our well-being and empower each other on this journey to better health. Don't miss out on the fun and inspiration!
A large-scale Wellness Day event would invite students, faculty, and local community members to learn about the wellness program while experiencing a variety of wellness services in one place. The event could include mini-classes, expert panels on mental health and nutrition, and informational booths hosted by program staff and other local health organizations. Attendees could participate in group activities such as guided mindfulness, group fitness, and interactive Q&A sessions with health professionals.
A Wellness Day is a high-visibility event that not only attracts media attention but also builds partnerships with local wellness organizations, increasing program credibility. By involving a wide range of services and interactive activities, the event caters to different interests and needs, making wellness accessible to all attendees. The inclusive nature of the event also aligns with the community values of IU Indianapolis, attracting media coverage from campus publications, local news outlets, and wellness magazines. Additionally, with the potential for media presence, such as local television coverage, this event would reach a wider audience, emphasizing the program's role in supporting student and community health.
Both the wellness workshops and the Wellness Day event are designed to engage students and the broader community by providing hands-on exposure to the program’s services.
